Quick Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about MyFishPics — before you send a message, your answer might already be here.

How do I delete my MyFishPics account and all my data?
You can delete your account directly inside the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all catch entries, photos, and associated metadata from our servers. Alternatively, submit this form with the "Account Deletion" topic selected and we'll process it within 48 hours.
Does MyFishPics share my GPS location or catch spots with anyone?
Absolutely not. MyFishPics is a private journal — there are no public feeds, no social sharing, and no crowdsourcing of your catch locations. Your GPS data is extracted on-device and your exact coordinates are never sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The app isn't recognizing my fish species correctly — what should I do?
Our AI species ID uses Google Cloud Vision combined with your local geographic data. For best results, make sure the photo is clear and well-lit with the fish clearly visible. If you're consistently getting wrong IDs, please report it via this form (select "Bug Report") and include your location region — it helps us improve local context accuracy.
My historical photos aren't mapping correctly — the locations look wrong.
This usually happens when photos were taken with location services disabled on your camera, or were transferred from another device (which can sometimes strip EXIF data). The app can only map catches where GPS data is embedded in the photo's metadata. If you believe it's a bug, please submit a report with details about your device and iOS version.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. To cancel, go to your iPhone's Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → MyFishPics → Cancel Subscription. We use RevenueCat for subscription management — BoatFish Labs does not store any payment or billing information.
When is MyFishPics launching?
We're targeting a Fall 2026 launch on iOS. Join the waitlist on our MyFishPics page to get notified the moment we go live — early sign-ups get free early access.
